Auntie Janet will be greatly missed. I have great memories of her as a kid and staying with her in Syracuse. She never missed a chance to ask about my daughters and their adventures, and she will be fondly remembered for her eye for fashion and the style she carried with such grace.
Janet and I became friends many years ago when she responded to an ad for a rescued Great Pyrenees dog. Our breed club has just been formed and it was our first official rescue. Janet adopted the dog, joined the club and we bonded over our love of that breed. Then we learned that we shared the same birthday and we celebrated many of those occasions at lunch together. She catered many a Gator function and when she saw us she always made sure we got the best of everything!
Janet frequently told me about her big family and I know she enjoyed the summers she was able to be with them. I was so saddened to learn of her passing but knew she had a serious medical condition. I know she had a best friend In Kerry and am so thankful Kerry was with her at the end. My condolences to all Janet’s family and friends. I will miss our friendship but will remember her with a special fondness. ❤️
My sisterJanet was an awesome big sister. She was always there with a smile, quick wit and questions about how my life was going. Janet was 10 years older than myself so she always had great advice. My heart is heavy, missing her almost daily calls. Missing her will last my lifetime. Happy to know she is an angel now.
Janet Hunter was my best friend of over 30 years and I loved her dearly. She was a person of integrity and great character. if you were lucky enough to have Janet as a friend, it was a gift of a lifetime. I will miss her adorable smile and spunky nature. Janet faced adversity with such strength and was always positive….never complained about herself and was always more interested in the welfare of others.

The very best sister-in-law anyone could ask for ..and the most dearest and sweetest friend to me throughout the years. She was a wonderful big sister to her little brother Danny ….and always the best loving and caring auntie to our children. I will forever miss and treasure our long phone conversations …along, with our lunch & dinner dates when she came for her summer visits.
For Danny and I, our visit to Gainesville will always be a cherished and memorable time.
We loved every minute of our visit with her! Reflecting back on years gone by with endless smiles and laughter was a true treasure..
Rest peacefully 🙏🏻🌹
My sweet cousin Janet. My childhood memories of our times together with our families are dearly cherished. We had so much fun. I know we will be reunited in eternity with our Savior Jesus Christ. Till then, I hope you know how much you were loved here, by so many friends and family. You blessed my heart with your strength of character and positive outlook, always uplifting and caring. Thank you for being you. Love Liz
Janet was like a mother to me. Janet was my best friend for 27 years. God knew i needed her, i just moved to gainesville for college and was lucky enough to meet her. She and i hit it off right away, she taught me how to balance a check book, have good credit, and so many life skills. She talked with me on the phone for hours and hours i could call her anytime. She loved life, her big family, her dog brady, tjmaxx, going out to eat and laughing! she was the most beautiful dear friend. i saved so many voicemails just to hear her voice. i keep seeing picking up the phone to call her. It’s such a huge loss. She was so much fun to be around. never complained , she was always happy! I’ll miss you forever my friend ❤️
My Dear Janet…recalling our wonderful times growing up…Girl Scouts…doing our homework together at the counter in Tonellis on Rt. 5….off to Joes Pizza on Fridays with Joyce, Judy and my sister Chris…hanging around Ben Perkins house hoping for an invite to one of his parties…those were the days…old friends are the best friends…so happy our paths have crossed in life…May God bless and keep you sweetie…love Connie ❤️
It was a pleasure to be Janet's neighbor for many years. I remember her walking her Great Pyrenees dogs. They were so well trained. I'd never seen a dog that BIG! We had many chats and I always enjoyed her company. She was always pleasant and positive. Little Brady was such a happy little dog and whoever gets him will surely see the product of her love and care. She will be missed! God's comfort and peace.
