Kenneth "Kenny" Joseph Kleiman

September 28, 1943 ~ December 13, 2025

Born in: Astoria, Queens, New York
Resided in: Gainesville, Florida

Kenneth Joseph Kleiman was born on September 28,1943 and passed away on December 13, 2025. His friends and family knew him as Kenny.

His career was defined by the Standardbred harness-horse racing industry where he was an owner, trainer and driver. In a career spanning 40+ years, he travelled across multiple states and competed in countless horse races, wearing his racing colors of maroon and gray. Throughout his career, what set him apart was his concern for the welfare of his horses. It’s a different kind of life on a horse farm. There are no days off, and he worked tirelessly every day, in the barn and on the track. Every horse had a story, and in the absence of co-workers, the horses were his daily companions.

To describe Kenny in a few words you would have to start with where he took his greatest pride; he was a caring father, a supportive husband and a true horseman. He was straightforward and authentic. He was athletic, possessing strength and endurance, and always challenging himself competitively. He was highly knowledgeable about each of his horses and the racing industry.

He was married to his wife Maureen for 57 years. Their passion for horses solidified their bond, and upon her passing on December 3, 2025, his illness became too advanced to manage. He passed away 10 days later, on his recently departed wife’s birthday, December 13, 2025. Their connection was undeniable, even in death. There isn’t one without the other, and it brings peace to know that they are together again.

Kenny is survived by his daughter Karissa, his granddaughter Savannah and his brother Gerard. He is predeceased by his wife Maureen, his brother Allen, and his parents George and Ann Kleiman.

Crevasse’s Simple Cremation is honored to serve the Kleiman family.
