Margaret Constance Collins died unexpectedly on December 15, 2025, at the age of 75 years old in Ocala, Florida.
Connie is survived and missed by her husband of 28 years, Charles, and her three children and their spouses: Joseph Hawley (Jill), Samantha Turman (Joe), and Crystal Carter (Phillip). She is forever cherished and remembered by her five grandchildren, Vera, Frederico, Anais, Kyson, and Ashlyn. She also leaves behind her brother Robert Matthews and sister-in-law Judy, as well as many other family members and friends who will sadly miss her company.
Connie was born in Anderson, South Carolina on June 20, 1950, relocating after a couple of years with her parents Robert and Daisy, and older brother Robert Jr. to West Palm Beach, Florida. They moved into a three bedroom home on Andrews Street where she resided for the rest of her childhood.
After graduating from Forest Hill High School, she enrolled in the Dental Hygiene A.S. program at Palm Beach State College. Certified as a Dental Hygienist, Connie pursued a lifelong career of keeping America’s teeth healthy and clean, including some lucky family members, longtime friends, and a few celebs.
She gave birth to her first child, Joseph, in 1973, which kickstarted a lifelong dedication as a loving mother, aunt to many nieces and nephews, and a doting grandmother later in life
Her second child, Samantha, was born in 1988. As they grew older together, they became each other’s confidant in times of need, developing a close relationship that went beyond the roles of mother and daughter.
Over the years, many, many hours were spent with family, friends, and a few cold beers watching her Florida Gators!
After moving to Miami with her husband Charles, she was afforded the luxury of living closer to the Florida Keys where they spent many vacations and day trips.
An avid cook and host, Connie loved to prepare a large spread for the holidays and special events making sure that no one left the house unstuffed.
With their loyal dog, Buddy, Connie and Charles recently moved to Ocala in pursuit of a quieter life in the country.
