William W. Bittner,81, died peacefully at 7:50 AM on January 22, 2026 at home in Turkey Creek(Alachua) on Haven Hospice.

William is survived by his son, Todd, siblings Jeri, Linda, Nancy and Doug.

His wife, Lynda(Dixie), his former wife, Faith, his brother Rus and his parents, Jean and William Bittner predeceased him.

Bill remains a proud graduate (Flying L) of Fort Lauderdale High school and a loyal and true U.S. Marine. He served in Viet Nam in 1966 after which he returned to the “Gator Nation” where he owned and operated Sandpiper Builders and Catch 22 (a local water hole) for many years. He was an avid golfer, (hence his nickname “Banana Bill”, for his slice), a devoted UF Football Fan, and a tireless coin collector, with a beloved “tell it like it is” sense of humor which will be sorely missed. A Celebration of Life will follow to be announced by the Family at a later date.
