Jordan Timothy Cuddy, born April 8, 1982, in Alaska, passed away after a
very short but courageous battle with cancer. He was 43.
Born and raised in Alaska, Jordan carried with him a deep sense of
independence, resilience, and curiosity about the world. Those qualities
shaped both his personal life and the career he loved.
On December 20, 2002, Jordan graduated from the Harry Lundeberg
School of Seamanship in Piney Point, Maryland, where he was issued his
Merchant Mariner Credential. He went on to build a lifelong career as a
Merchant Mariner, working for Ocean Ship Holdings, Inc. Jordan took
great pride in his work at sea and remained dedicated to his profession
until the time of his passing. Through his work he traveled the world,
experiencing many cultures and places that fueled his natural curiosity and
appreciation for people and traditions.
The crew from the last vessel he served aboard, the USNS Pathfinder,
shared that they knew Jordan as an exceptionally competent engineer, but
even more as the kind of shipmate anyone would be grateful to sail with—
fiercely loyal, dependable, and someone they all trusted. Among those
who worked beside him, he was deeply respected and deeply loved.
Jordan had a wide range of interests and passions. He had a natural
curiosity for culture and food and was always eager to experience
something new. He loved dogs, enjoyed the challenge of crossword
puzzles, and was a voracious reader. He also had a keen mind for
strategizing financial investments and took great interest in following
markets and planning for the future. A devoted fan of mixed martial arts,
Jordan rarely missed an opportunity to follow the sport he loved. When he
was home, he enjoyed riding his bike and spending time outdoors.
More than anything, Jordan will be remembered for the kind of person he
was. He was fiercely loyal, generous, and a true friend to many. He loved
meeting new people and had a remarkable ability to see the best in others.
His warmth, humor, and genuine interest in those around him left a lasting
impression on everyone fortunate enough to know him.
Jordan is survived by his loving family and many friends who will deeply
miss him and cherish the memories they shared.
His life was one of adventure, dedication, and connection with others, and
his memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved him.
In memory of Jordan, please prioritize your health by scheduling
recommended cancer screenings.
Crevasse’s Simple Cremation is honored to serve the Cuddy family.

No matter the distance or the time we’d get together and we didnt miss a beat. I used to always randomly check in to see where in the world Jordan Cuddy was. It was always somewhere interesting. I am so thankful I got to see him this summer. It had been 20 years since I’d been back home amd he happen to be home too! We had a mini adventure, shenanigans always found us! Big laughs and more memories.
Jordan was such a stand up guy, always. Always right there for you if you needed him. Call anytime no matter the time zone. He loved his family and his nieces especially!
My heart was broken when he told me the news.
