Lynn Charles Brinkman, 81, of Hartford, WI — devoted father, grandfather, proud veteran, and grateful soul — entered into eternal peace on Wednesday, March 25, 2026.
Lynn was born on March 5, 1945, in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin, to Alvin and Lucille Brinkman. He spent his childhood in the small town of Brownsville, WI, where his roots ran deep and his personality took shape. Lynn proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War, a chapter of his life he carried with great honor.
After returning home, Lynn opened the much-loved Club 49 supper club in the Brownsville area, where he perfected his ability to connect with people, make them laugh, and make them feel at home. It was there he met his wife Sheila, and together they raised two children, Larry and Tracy, and later opened the larger Woodridge restaurant in Hartford, WI. After exiting the restaurant business, Lynn spent many years in the insurance and financial services industry, taking great pride in genuinely helping his clients.
Lynn bravely faced dementia during the last decade of his life but never lost his sense of gratitude or his sense of humor. He was known among staff as one of the most gracious and polite residents they had ever encountered — constantly thanking them for their “beautiful smile” and for “all they do.” When family and friends would visit, he could always be counted on to remind them, “We have so much to be grateful for.” He was generous with his time, his love, and his laughter, and he had a gift for making everyone around him feel like a million bucks.
Some of Lynn’s greatest joys included boating, fishing, and making memories on Little Green Lake, cheering on the Packers and Brewers, golfing, and spending time with his children and grandchildren.
Lynn is survived by his children Larry (Janelle) Brinkman and Tracy (Ben) Glynn; his grandchildren Madysen (Tyler) Barr, Jake Glynn, Elly Brinkman, and Jax Brinkman; his great-grandsons Kade Barr and Knox Barr; his brother Randy Brinkman; his sisters Karen Hendricks and Sandy (Edward) Krentz; his former wife Sheila; and many cherished family members and friends whom he loved deeply.
Lynn is preceded in death by his parents, Alvin and Lucille Brinkman; his sister Jean Mangan; and his brother Larry Brinkman.
