Tamberly Lynn Briar

July 27, 1961 ~ March 26, 2026

Resided in: Alachua , Florida

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Tamberly Lynn Briar who left us on March 26. Tammy fought a courageous battle with cancer and succumbed while surrounded by her family.

A beloved daughter, sister, aunt, niece and friend, Tammy will be remembered for her exceptional compassionate care for her many patients, particularly the children under her care in the Shand’s Pediatric Oncology Section where she worked as a nurse for about 20 years. During this time Tammy obtained her Nurse Practitioner credentials and spent many years working in dermatology for Dr. Stoer where she again helped numerous cancer patients who relied on her for her knowledge and compassion.

Everyone who knew Tammy loved her for her caring, loyalty, intelligence and sense of humor. Tammy was an unwavering animal lover, especially the animals that she cared so much for on her farm.

Tammy loved the outdoors, especially fishing, swimming, hiking, boating, and nature in general. She also loved sports; was an avid softball player and bowler and was a big Philadelphia Eagles fan.

Born July 1961, she is predeceased by her father John Briar and survived by her mother Janet Briar, brother John Briar (Glenda), sister Kelly Davis (Toyge), niece Martina Riley (Shawn), nephew Jonathan Gill (Lindsey), great nephews Connor and Zachary Riley. Additionally, she is survived by her Aunt Linda Hibbs, who was a source of support and love throughout her life.

A private family service will be held to honor Tammy.

Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.

  1. The Final Flight…..author unknown

Don’t grieve for me, for now I’m free,
I’m following the path God laid for me.
I took his hand when I heard his call,
I turned my back and left it all.
I could not stay another day,
To laugh, to love, to work, to play.
Tasks left undone must stay that way,
I’ve found that peace at the end of the day.
If my parting has left a void,
Then fill it with remembered joy.
A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss,
Ah, yes, these things too I will miss.
Be not burdened with times of sorrow,
I wish you the sunshine of tomorrow.
My Life’s been full, I savoured much,
Good friends, good times, a loved one’s touch.
Love and miss you so much Tammy
    Your loving sister Kelly

  2. My thoughts and prayers are with you all at this sad time. I didn’t know Tammy but heard many wonderful stories about her from her mom. My sincere condolences go out to her mom and her family.

  3. I have not met Tammy, but am a friend of her mother, Janet. I would like to let the family know how very sorry I am for your loss. Prayers are going up to The FATHER on your behalf for HIS Grace to be able to hold up under such grief. 🙏💕

  4. My Dear Cousin, The love you gave to so many people and furry friends will never be forgotten. Your light, love and kindness will be forever missed. I love you and will miss you Tammy.
    Love, Jen, Kip and Kids

  5. Tam, I am going to miss you so much! For close to 35 years you were in my life going back to Lavender Menace softball (Go Hussies) and bowling. You were always there to listen, to ask questions of, do projects with or just hang out with. Thank you for the parties held at your house. I will miss you as part of our annual MLK girls trip. Thank you for trusting us to take care of your boy, Zeus. We will love him to pieces. Every day he will remind Rhonda and I of you!
You are Forever in my heart.

  6. Tammy, you will be missed. The love, friendship, and laughter we shared for almost 40 years will remain in my heart. Knowing you were always there for me gave me strength. Thanks for being the wonderful, caring and compassionate friend you were. Love you.
    Kathy

  7. I looked forward to going to Aunt Janet and Uncle John’s because I loved playing with Tammy, Johnny, and Kelly. Tammy always beat me at playing PIG yet she never razzed me about my lack of skills. Tammy was a fun cousin to hang out with and will alway hold a special place in my memories of childhood.
