Ernst A. Kallenbach

Ernst A. Kallenbach of Gainesville, Florida, passed away peacefully at home on April 8, 2026 at the age of 100. After growing up in Germany, Ernst studied anatomy in Montreal, Canada, earning his PhD from McGill University. He subsequently moved his family to Gainesville and taught at the University of Florida for 30 years. In retirement, he enjoyed turning wooden bowls, travelling with his wife Christa, and spending time with his ever growing family.

Ernst is survived by his wife Christa, his sons Heiko (wife Trish) , Andrew (partner Taylor), and Rusty (wife Alex), his grandchildren Tiffany (husband Bob), Chris, Nicholas (wife Mary Katherine), Katy, Matthew (wife Rachel), and Patrick, and his great-grandchildren Henry, David, and Madilynn.
