Walter “Wally” Olson Jr., a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away on April 12th at the age of 81.
Born on April 4th, 1945 in Milwaukee, WI – Wally was the son of Walter Sr. and Marjory Olson and brother to Karen and Joanne. He grew up in West Allis, where he developed the values of hard work, loyalty, and a deep appreciation for family and community.
Wally was known for his strong character and dedication both in his professional life as an engineer and in the community he loved. After moving to Florida in 1995, he proudly served as President of his local Green Bay Packers Backer Club, where he brought people together through his passion for football and fun with friends & family. His leadership, creativity and witty sense of humor made a lasting impression on everyone who had the opportunity to know him, forming many cherished friendships along the way.
Above all, Wally’s greatest joy was his family. He is survived by his loving wife, Geri, his sons, Mike (Nancy), Steve (Ann), Bill (Jacque) and Bob; and his beloved grandchildren, Kevin, Zach, Tori, Luke, Lilly, Alyssa, and Andy. He was a steady, caring presence in their lives and took great pride in each of them.
In his free time, Wally enjoyed playing guitar, applying his broad range of knowledge on trivia night and finding happiness in the simple moments in the company of those he loved most.
