Ronald George Clark, 84, passed away peacefully on February 27, 2026 at the E.T. York Hospice Care Center in Gainesville.
Ron was born in Cleveland, Ohio, on September 29, 1941, to George and Edna Clark. He moved to Miami, Florida during his teen years where he graduated from Miami Edison Senior High School. He attended Stetson University before earning a degree in Mechanical and Electrical Engineering from the University of Miami. He began his career at the University of Florida before founding a medical devices company in Gainesville. As an electrical engineer, he built analog computers, developed the mathematics for astronaut pilot simulators, and held a patent for inventing a mobile computerized tomography unit. Prior to his retirement, he established a sign and graphics business. Ron was an audiophile and had a keen interest in religion, the cosmos, and politics. His children and grandchildren inherited his love of classical music and jazz.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 60 years, Penny Clark; his two children, Carl (Elizabeth) Clark and Chrystia (Matthew) Lilley; and his four grandchildren, Jackson and Owen Clark, and Mason and Alexandra Lilley.
The family will hold a private celebration of his life.
