Jeanette Love

May 21, 2026

Jeanette Love passed away on May 21, 2026, in Gainesville, Florida, at the age of 100, with her daughter beside her.

Born on April 5, 1926, in Anniston, Alabama, Jeanette’s life stretched across a century of extraordinary change. She carried with her the quiet resilience of her Southern upbringing through the many places she would later call home, including New York City, New Jersey, Atlanta, and Florida.

Her early adult years were devoted to raising her daughter and creating a home filled with care and constancy. Later, she established a career with Honeywell Field Engineering in Atlanta, bringing to her work the same discipline and thoughtfulness that characterized every chapter of her life.

Jeanette is survived by her daughter, Pam Alexander; grandchildren Melissa Dykes (Houskamp), Daniel Houskamp, Shane Alexander, and Eric Brooks; and great-grandchildren Logan Alexander, Connor and Hunter Dykes, and Dean, Drew, Hattie, and Charlie Houskamp. She was preceded in death by her sisters, Jean Gordon and Dorothy Love.

She lived quietly, preferring books to crowds and thoughtful conversation to attention. She loved reading, remained devoted to swimming and exercise, and followed the world of finance with enthusiasm, often offering stock advice to those around her.

Her grandchildren will remember her breakfasts of unlimited pancakes and gifts of stock shares. Her family will remember her not for grand gestures, but for a lifetime of showing up, following those she loved, and helping care for the next generation.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association in her memory.

Crevasse’s Simple Cremation is honored to serve the Love family.
