Matthew Kent Bennett

With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Matthew Kent Bennett, age 41, on June 5, 2026. Born in Gainesville, Florida, and a lifelong Gainesville resident, Matt was known for his sharp sense of humor, hard head, and soft heart.

Matt is lovingly remembered by this mother, Karen Martin; His sister and brother-in-law, Sarah and Chris King; His niece, Stella King; And many beloved cousins and extended family members.

He was preceded in death by his father, Kent Bennett.

Matt’s memory will live on in the stories and laughter shared by family and friends and in the lives of those who knew and loved him. He will be deeply missed.
