Peggy Ann Jarvis, 82, of Newberry, FL, passed away peacefully on June 21, 2026, at Haven Hospice – Tri‑Counties Hospice Care Center.
Peggy was born on October 2, 1943, at Alachua General Hospital, the same hospital where she would later devote more than four decades of her life caring for newborns. She was raised in Waldo, Florida, by her parents, Emory and Estelle Malloy, who instilled in her the values of kindness, steadiness, and service that became the foundation of her life.
A graduate of Gainesville High School, Class of 1961, Peggy went on to earn her nursing degree from the Alachua County Hospital School of Practical Nursing in 1963. Immediately after graduation, she began her career in the Newborn Nursery at Alachua General Hospital. Over the next 42 years, she served as an LPN in the Newborn Nursery and NICU, offering gentle hands, calm reassurance, and unwavering dedication to the tiniest and most vulnerable patients. She retired in 2005, leaving behind a legacy of compassion that touched thousands of families.
Peggy is survived by her loving husband of nearly 40 years, Ed Jarvis; her children, Terrie Jarvis of Chattanooga, TN; Brenda (Steve) Moore of Bell, FL; Karen (Kirk) Brooker of High Springs, FL; and Andy (Laura) Davis of Kathleen, GA. She was blessed with eleven grandchildren and seven great‑grandchildren, each of whom brought her immense joy.
She is also survived by her sister‑in‑law, Beverly Malloy of Trenton, FL, along with beloved nieces and nephews.
Peggy was preceded in death by her parents, Emory and Estelle Malloy, and her brother, Tommy Malloy.
Peggy will be remembered for her gentle spirit, her lifelong devotion to caring for others, and the quiet strength she carried into every room. Her legacy lives on in the countless lives she touched — in the families she comforted, the babies she cared for, and the loved ones who will forever hold her memory close.
