Rudolph “Rudy” Miller, 84, passed away peacefully at his home in Jacksonville, Florida, on July 10, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family.

Born on January 29, 1942, in Hartford, Connecticut, and raised in Millwood, New York, Rudy lived a life defined by integrity, dedication, and service. He was an exceptional provider whose strong work ethic, unwavering sense of responsibility, and pride in a job well done were evident in every aspect of his life.

Rudy proudly served his country in the United States Air Force for seven years before continuing his lifelong commitment to serving others as a Deputy Sheriff with the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office, where he faithfully served his community for 21 years. Following his retirement, he remained dedicated to protecting others as Head of Security for University Church & University Christian School.

Rudy is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 53 years, Brenda Miller; his beloved children, Rudy Miller, Mark Miller, and Avie Miller; his sister, Arletta Kendall; his grandchildren, Trey Miller, Ian Miller, and Elise Miller; several nieces and nephews, particularly his nephew, Bryan Davis, who was like a son to him; along with many other family members and dear friends who will miss him greatly.

Rudy will be remembered for his steadfast dedication to his family, his country, and his community. His quiet strength, dependability, and generous heart will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Honoring Rudy’s wishes, no formal memorial service will be held. Those who wish to honor his memory may make a donation in his name to Community Hospice & Palliative Care Jacksonville (click here) in gratitude for the compassionate care and comfort they provided to Rudy and his family during his final days.
