Kathleen Hall Rawdon

Kathleen Hall Rawdon passed away on August 19, 2026, in Jacksonville, Florida. She went by “Katie” throughout her life and was 75 years old when she died.

Katie was born on September 28, 1950, to Clara Estelle and Chester Calvin Hall in Hugoton, Kansas. She grew up on their farm in Mound City, Kansas, along with her two older brothers, Lanny and Clark, and younger sister, Liz. After graduating from Mound City High School in 1968, she attended Kansas State College of Pittsburg, where she met her husband Larry Joe Rawdon.

After Katie and Larry married in 1969, the couple moved to the East Coast to pursue their educations, careers, and create a family together. During their earlier years of marriage, they lived in Connecticut and different parts of New York, including Long Island and the Upper West Side.

In 1977, Katie began working as an administrative assistant at The Custom Shop, a men’s custom suiting company in New York City. When her talent and promise became apparent to the owner of the business, he sponsored Katie’s return to school at Baruch College, where she earned her Bachelor’s Degree. By the time she left The Custom Shop twenty years later in 1997, Katie was the COO of the company.

In 1984, Katie gave birth to her and Larry’s first daughter, Amanda. The three of them resided in Astoria for four years before moving to Ridgefield, Connecticut. In 1989, Katie gave birth to her and Larry’s second daughter, Emily. After two years in Connecticut, the family of four moved back to New York City and lived on the Upper East Side, where they stayed for 17 years.

During the early 2000’s, Katie worked for several New York City socialites as their estate managers and personal assistants. When she wasn’t working, she worked hard at homeschooling her two daughters for three years of their educations. During these years, Katie joined the Brick Presbyterian Church and eventually served as a deacon.

In 2008, Katie moved to Jacksonville, Florida with Larry. In 2009 she founded Chic Boutique, a luxury boutique in Ponte Vedra Beach that carried unique Moroccan style caftans, jewelry, and accessories.

Katie was a true lover of music. She was a classically trained soprano and loved to sing all kinds of music and accompanied herself on piano. Cooking and baking were among her other passions. She loved making meals and treats for her family and experimenting with adventurous recipes and cuisines. Katie took pride in teaching her children to cook in the hopes that her recipes and her love for cooking would be passed down for generations. Katie was also a lover of cats, of which she had four during her adult life.

Always able to light up a room with her beautiful smile, Katie touched so many lives with her compassionate and witty personality.

Katie was preceded in death by her parents and is survived by husband of 57 years, Larry J. Rawdon, daughter Amanda R.Tozzi and her husband Simone of Fort Mill, South Carolina, daughter Emily R. Bandovic and her husband Danilo of New Rochelle, New York, and three grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother Lanny R. Hall and his wife Marilyn, brother Clark C. Hall and his wife Patty, sister Liz H. Scott and her husband Richard, and many nieces and nephews
