Ruth (Ruthie) Joanne Hamilton
Age 64. Passed away on October 14, 2026 in Jacksonville, FL. Born in Indiana, PA. and raised in Gypsy, PA., she’d been a resident of Jacksonville since 1980. She is preceded in death by her sister Joyce and mother-in-law Peggy. She is survived by her daughters Alea (Melissa) and Jessica (Wynn), her sister Donna (Dave), her grandchildren Justin, Joshua, Rylie, and Logan, her sister-in-law Terri, nephew Christopher, nieces Kimberly and Rachel, cousins Angie and Mike, her longtime companion Dave, and her cat Tom.
Ruth fought a courageous battle with Multiple Sclerosis for twenty years, refusing to let the debilitating disease dampen her spirit and bright smile. She loved to laugh, cheer on the Jaguars and the Gators, and watch her TV shows, never missing an episode of Days of Our Lives, but most of all, she loved her family. She often said being a mother to her two daughters was the best thing she ever did.
The family will be announcing a Celebration of Life at a later date.
Crevasse’s Simple Cremation is honored to serve the Hamilton family.

My condolences for your loss. I grew up with your Momma and sister Donna in Gipsy and fondly remember our play dates💜
Ruth!!! I will miss seeing you, taking care of you when they went out of town was our family time together the last 10 years! I absolutely love how you loved and adored my grandchildren and I know you know they loved you right back, Aunt Ruth! Before that, we had years of memories, many good times, with our kids growing up together! I will always remember them, and you! I love you and I’ll see you again one day…all your trials are over and for that I am thankful…though very missed you will be…rest with the Lord..xoxo
