Judith Elaine Kirkman Sudduth

July 20, 1945 – October 25, 2026

Judith Elaine Kirkman Sudduth, affectionately known as Judy, passed away October 25, 2026, at the age of 81.

Judy was born on July 20, 1945, to Calvin and Lois Cole Kirkman in Jacksonville, Florida, where she was born and raised. She and her beloved husband, Tom, spent many years in Pensacola, Florida, during his service in the United States Navy. Following his military service, they relocated to Crestview, Florida, before eventually settling in Earleton, Florida.

Judy devoted her early years to being a loving wife, mother, and homemaker. During those years, she enjoyed participating in Navy bowling leagues with friends and could often be found cheering on her children as they played sports at the Myrtle Grove Community Center. Once her children were grown, Judy began a dedicated career with Walmart, working at locations in Crestview, Starke and Gainesville, Florida. Throughout her years there, she formed many lasting friendships and touched the lives of those she worked alongside.

Judy had a love for life’s simple pleasures and the memories made along the way. She cherished spending time with her dear friends from The Cove at Santa Fe Pass, traveling, and enjoying the beauty and peacefulness of the mountains. Above all, she especially loved her trips to the casino, which were always among her favorite adventures.

Judy had a presence that was truly unforgettable and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. She was spirited, quick-witted, and never afraid to speak her mind. Her personality was one of a kind, and she had a way of leaving a lasting impression on everyone she met. Above all else, Judy’s greatest love was her family. She devoted her life to those she loved, and her family and friends meant everything to her.

Judy shared an especially close and cherished bond with her beloved sister, Mildred. Their connection was one that time and distance could never break. Judy deeply missed her sister following her passing, and there is comfort in knowing that after years apart, the two are finally reunited. While Judy’s absence leaves an undeniable void in the lives of those who loved her, the thought of these two sisters together again brings a measure of peace to those left behind.

Judy was preceded in death by her father, Calvin Kirkman Sr.; her mother, Lois Kirkman Finch; her stepfather, Raymond Finch; her brother, Calvin Kirkman Jr.; and her beloved sister and best friend, Mildred Kirkman Johnson.

She is survived by her beloved husband of 64 years, Thomas Sudduth; her children, David (Debbie) Sudduth, Jerry (Amy) Sudduth, and Tracy (Chris) Gonsoulin; her grandchildren, Michael (Hillary) Kuchera, Jessica (Daniel) Comer, Kaitlyn (Alex) Hendrix, Nathaniel Sudduth, Alex Sudduth, and Jaxon Sudduth; and her great-grandchildren, Aaron, Daniel, and Aubree Comer, Kadence and Tripp Kuchera, and Malachi, Charlotte and Theodore Hendrix. She is also survived by her brother, Larry (Barbara) Kirkman, along with many loving nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.

Guestbook

  1. Mrs. Judy I’m going to miss you. You were a dear friend to me and I’ll never forget you. Fly High Sister

  2. I will deeply miss Judy. She and I served together on our HOA and she was a great support. I admired that she was a straight-shooter but was also kind and grounded in common sense. Good bye, Friend.

  3. Judy was a dear friend and neighbor here in The Cove in Earleton. She was the first neighbor we met when we moved here in 2004 and she was so kind and welcoming to us. At that time, Judy had a sweet little dog named Lucy. Lucy was a fashionista because of her “Mom” Judy. Lucy had an outfit for every holiday and occasion and, through Lucy and her visits to us, I got to know Judy very deeply. Judy loved feeding the deer and the cranes in our neighborhood. When I popped in to visit Judy, she was always so welcoming. Judy was a true Southern lady. She loved tradition. But most of all, she loved her beloved soul mate, Tom. They were truly a match made in heaven and 2 peas in a pod. I will miss her smile and her welcoming presence in our neighborhood. Judy was truly one of a kind. May she rest in peace. My husband, Sid, and I offer our deepest condolences and sympathy to her beloved Tom and her family and friends. May angels carry her to her well deserved rest in Heaven.

  4. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.. Judy has been an awesome friend to me for many years .. I know she is at peace and will be missed … May God bless you all and comfort you with peace and love.
