Born March 24, 1930, in New Bedford, Massachusetts
Died December 18, 2025, at his residence, peacefully in his sleep.
Alfonso was the last surviving sibling of his family and is survived by his wife, Maria Ferreira, and his son, Scott Ferreira.
He was affectionately regarded by his neighbors and held in high esteem as a paternal figure by many.
A U.S. Army veteran who served from 1952 to 1954 during the Korean War, Alfonso was an enthusiastic outdoorsman who was passionate about camping, hiking, windsurfing, water skiing, and snow skiing. Although occasionally the life of the party, he abstained from smoking and alcohol.
Dad, thank you for stepping into a paternal role and raising me to the best of your ability, given the resources available to you. While we all deeply miss you, we find solace in the knowledge that you are now at peace.
