Aymee Suzanne McCay (Johnson) of St. Auqustine, FL passed away at her home on
October 3, 2021 at the age of 51. Aymee is survived by her parents Steven E. and Patricia
A. Johnson of Danville, IL; her sister Lisa Ellery (Johnson) of Georgetown, IL; her brother
Gary L. (Ren) Miller of Orlando, FL: her brother Grady Crippin of Danville, IL: and
numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. Aymee was preceded in death by her
grandparents Elmo and Argie Johnson, Lauren and Lena Carpenter, and Glen and Virginia
Crippin; sister Carrie Gulick (Miller); uncle Lauren E. Carpenter; and uncle Stanley A. Johnson.
Aymee was born on April 25, 1970 in Danville, IL. She graduated in 1988 from Bel Air
High School in Bel Air, MD where she excelled in playing the flute, tennis, and volleyball.
After high school Aymee attended Florida Community College at Jacksonville and the
University of North Florida. She earned her degree in Secondary Mathematics Education
in 1999 from UNF. Aymee went on to teach for eighteen years in public school and private
school in Jacksonville, FL and St. Augustine, FL.
Aymee was also an entrepreneur and was the owner and operator of three small
healthcare businesses. She enjoyed the challenge of growing and maturing the businesses
for eight years. In her spare time, Aymee loved spending time with family and friends,
swimming, and was an avid movie goer. She was passionate about educating her students
Aymee and her family are grateful to Pacetti Bay Middle School for their considerations
and assistance toward Aymee throughout her illness. Aymee would like to express her
sincere appreciation for the friendships of her closest companions Travis, Greta, and
Donna and for the love and support from her parents.






It was my pleasure to be able to fly to Fl. to met Aymee after all these years of talking on phone & going with Travis my son, they had some great times together, you will be dearly missed, you were so Loved by many.
