It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Barbara Ozmore on January 18, 2025, at the age of 79. Born on April 12,1945 in Riverdale Maryland to George and Catherine McLaughlin. Barbara was a long-time resident of Pinellas County, working at Tampa General Hospital as a respiratory therapist for 20 years before retiring “upcountry” in Gilchrest County.
Barbara was a bright light in all our lives with her exhausting zest for life and joy. She leaves us with many happy memories of shooting pool, fishing, sledding with her grandchildren, gardening, and quilting with friends.
Barbara was preceded in death by the love of her life, her husband Cary Ozmore; daughter, Janet Crowell; daughter, Vicki Carpenter; stepson Roy Ozmore; Brother, Michael McLaughlin; brother, Steven Mclaughlin; and Brother, Robert McLaughlin.
Survived and missed by her children; Elizabeth Colgan, Kevin Colgan, Christie-Lynn Colgan, Robert Carpenter; loving stepchildren; Dawn Schultz, Don Ozmore; Siblings William D. (Jode) McLaughlin, Kathryn (Robert) Lowery, Victor (Kathleen) McLaughlin, Kenneth (Erin) McLaughlin; 16 grandchildren and many great grandchildren.
“Death leaves a heartache no one can heal; Love leaves a memory no one can steal.”

This is the Barbara I remember well. Happily returning from a fabric shop with arms full of fabric to be sewn into special quilts. Her laugh will not be forgotten, nor her kindness shown to her many quilting friends and others. We will miss her at the Ft. White Quilt Sisters sewing days.
I was so fortunate to have rekindled my relationship with her. I loved her very much. I will never forget her getting stuck in the kayak in Cedar Key I don’t think I have ever laughed that much in my life.
I will never forget all of the great times we had whether it was playing pool at the Flamingo bar or going to bingo. We even took a trip to Kentucky to see how much bingo we could do. I will miss my Friend . Liz please call me at 727-481-3791 and let me know what is happening. Love you
