Bryan "Big B" "Brown" Burdetsky

March 19, 1961 ~ December 25, 2022

Bryan Burdetsky, “Big B” or “Brown”, went to be with the Lord after a long courageous battle with pancreatic cancer on December 25, 2022, at the age of 61. Bryan was born on March 19, 1961 in Philadelphia, PA. He was preceded in death by his father, Albert Burdetsky. Survivors are, his wife of 11 years, Laura (Frith) Burdetsky of Orange Park; sons, Bryan Lowther Burdetsky (Jaime) of Baldwin, Justin Nakano Burdetsky (Erika), of Japan, Eli Burdetsky of Orange Park; daughter, Angela Nakano Burdetsky, of Japan; stepdaughter, Hannah Cubbedge of Jacksonville; mother, Kazuyo (Matsuo) Burdetsky of Orange Park ;brothers, David Burdetsky (Eileen) of Jacksonville, Mark Burdetsky (Katrina) of Orange Park; sister, Rebecca Burdetsky Geiger (Chris) of Green Cove Springs; 5 grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins he held close to his heart.

Born into a Navy family, Bryan loved traveling and exploring other cultures. Growing up he played football and basketball and took up surfing while stationed in Guam. He lived in Japan for 22 years teaching English.  When he returned to Florida, he met and married Laura, the love of his life. They settled in Orange Park where he helped raise her daughter Hannah, and their son Eli. He was an avid fisherman whose passion for the ocean found him making many fond memories at the beach.  He had a zest for life that was palpable to everyone who knew or met him.  Bryan was uplifting, fun, and gregarious and was always encouraging those around him. He will be remembered by his contagious smile and willingness to help his fellow man. Bryan loved the gym, the Gators and everything football, but his greatest love was for his family and dog, Chance.
