Calvin Wade Arrowood

Calvin Wade Arrowood was born June 30, 1956, in Valdosta, Ga., and died May 9, 2025, at UF Health Shands Hospital in Gainesville. He was 68.

Wade attended Taylor County schools. After graduation, he studied at Taylor Vo-Tech, training under his mama, Bazlyn Arrowood.

He was a barber by trade, relocating to Gainesville, calling it his permanent home.

Wade will be remembered for his generous spirit and inherent wit.

He is survived by: sisters, Angela Barnes of Perry, Becky Gattis of Shelbyville, Ind., and Jamie McCranie of Tallahassee; and brothers, Richard Wyatt of Columbus, Ga., Robert Barfield of Las Vegas, Nev., and Danny Arrowood of Perry; along with several nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends, Jaime Hernandez and June Hinson of Gainesville.
