A Legacy of Faith, Family, and Fellowship

Catherine “Cathy” Ridley VanLandingham, beloved mother,
grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully
on September 16, 2025, in Jacksonville, Florida. It was just two
days shy of her 93rd birthday.
Born on September 18, 1932, in Fort Lauderdale, Florida,
Cathy was the cherished daughter of the late Alma (Folsom)
Ridley and Jack Ridley. She was the devoted wife of the late
James VanLandingham, with whom she shared 38 wonderful
years of marriage. Together, they built a loving home and were
deeply rooted in their community.
Cathy was a charter member of Deermeadows Baptist Church,
where she dedicated countless hours to ministry, fellowship,
and nurturing generations of faith. Her unwavering commitment
to the church and its mission left a lasting legacy that will
continue to inspire all who knew her.
She is survived by her children, Rusty (the late Sylvia) Ownes,
Judy (Jayme) Alfano; grandchildren, Paige (Matt) Minshew,
Michael (Ansley) Alfano, Sarah (Brady) Gordon, Nikki (Adam)
Howard; and great-grandchildren, Rusty and Matty Minshew,
Emily, Audrey, and Caroline Alfano, Tanner and Marshall
Gordon, and Brooks Howard. Her family was her greatest joy,
and she poured love, wisdom, and grace into each of their lives.
Cathy will be remembered for her unwavering faith, her
devotion to family, and her lifelong commitment to her church
and community.

Cathy was always kind and an active member of our community. Her life was special and she will be missed. Prayers for you all and hopefully wonderful memories will help to bring you peace.
