In Loving Memory of Charles "Charlie" Owen Jordan (August 12, 1938 - January 9, 2025), Gainesville, FL.
Charles "Charlie" Owen Jordan, whose warmth and kindness touched countless lives across his remarkable 86 years, passed away surrounded by loved ones on January 9, 2025, at Veterans Hospital in Gainesville, Florida. His passing marks the end of a life magnificently lived and deeply cherished by all who knew him. Charlie dedicated 23 years of distinguished service to the United States Navy, embodying the values of duty, honor, and commitment that would define his entire life. Following his military career, he earned a Curriculum Development degree from National University, launching him into a successful civilian career that showcased his expertise and dedication.

His professional journey led him to RCA in Moorestown, New Jersey, where he continued serving the Navy as an instructor for the AEGIS Nuclear Tracking Project. Eventually, Charlie found his home in Gainesville, Florida, where he and his beloved wife, Elaine, built a new chapter of their lives together. His professional versatility showed again as he later joined TradePMR, providing administrative support. In Gainesville, Charlie became an ardent Florida Gators fan, embracing the community spirit that would define his later years.

Throughout his life, Charlie's greatest joy was his family. He leaves behind a legacy of love through his wife of 47 years, Elaine Jordan, who shared in his adventures and helped create the warm, welcoming home for which he was known. His children - Rebecca (David) Edds, Scott (Amanda) Jordan, Kathy Jordan, and Elizabeth (Doyle) McClellan - were the pride of his life, each carrying forward his values of compassion and integrity. Charlie's love extended to his grandchildren, who knew him as their beloved "Bumpa": Caitlin (Matthew) Nagy, Lesley (Jack) Ogle, Ryan Amy, Kayla Jordan, Krista (Dillon) Gandee, Kara Jordan, River (Juniper) Evergreen, Dian McClellan, and Chaz McClellan. His legacy continues through his great-grandchildren: Jackson Nagy, Charlie Quinn Nagy, Thorin Evergreen, Easton Gandee, Mason Gandee, Jacobi Buenaventura, and Avalana Buenaventura.

Charlie's life was characterized by his unwavering devotion to family, his generous spirit, and his ability to make everyone feel special. His warm smile, kind heart, and genuine interest in others created lasting connections wherever he went. He approached life with curiosity and compassion, leaving an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of knowing him.

While Charlie may no longer be with us physically, his spirit lives on in the countless lives he touched, the wisdom he shared, and the love he gave so freely. His legacy will continue to inspire and guide future generations of his family and all who knew him.
May his memory be a blessing and his story continue to inspire others to live with the same grace, kindness, and generosity that he showed throughout his life.

Crevasse's Simple Cremation is honored to serve the Jordan family.
