Charles R. Walker, 86, of Ocala, FL, passed away Sunday, November 16, 2025, at Ocala Health and Rehab under the care of Hospice of Marion County.
Born on July 18, 1939, in Big Stick, WV, he was the son of the late Fred and Lela Walker.
A 1957 graduate of Sophia High School, he earned an Associate in Business Administration Degree from Beckley College and a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Business Administration from Marshall University. He retired in 2003 from Johnson Controls.
Mr. Walker was a devout Christian who served in various areas of church work such as singing in the choir, deacon, Bible teacher and volunteering in children’s programs. He enjoyed reading his Bible and devotional books – as well as books about history and watching TV programs about nature, history, and sports. He was known for his captivating smile. His favorite scripture verse was Hebrews 3:5-6 “Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not on thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge Him, and He will direct thy paths.” He was a member of the Friendship Baptist Church in Ocala, FL.
Survivors include his devoted wife of 27 years, Mary; firstborn son Mark (Dawn) and son Wayne; step-daughters Jaye Miller and Debbi Miller; grandchildren Cory Walker, Keagan Walker, Race Walker, Emmett Shaw, Amanda Joseph-Cao, and Austin Joseph; great-grandsons C.J. Cao and Maverick Walker; brother Gary Walker (Millie); and sister-in-law Norma Walker.
Preceding him in death were his brother, Judson Walker, a great-niece Amber Patton, and his first wife Frances Walker.
