David Charles Spong

David Charles Spong passed away on February 7th, 2022, in St. Augustine, FL. He born January 16, 1959, in East Northport, NY. David was an avid boater and fisherman and loved traveling on cruises. He was loved throughout the community for his kind heart, storytelling, and sense of humor. He graduated St. Augustine High School in St. Augustine in 1977 and was an active member Good News Church in St Augustine. He is survived by his wife Karen, Sons: Erik (Gwen) and Jared (Stacey), 5 grandchildren: Lincoln, Alexis, Kayla, Michael, and Jensen. Preceded in death by his parents Charles G and Sophie V Spong, and siblings Leo, Carl, and Rita.

I didn't know Dave very well but he could always make me laugh! I'm 5"1' and he was 6"4' and when I first met him he was a little scarry. I'm happy to report that we became friends and he was just a big old teddy bear. The last time I saw him he made me laugh. I truly thank God for making sure our paths crossed. Rest easy my my friend.
