Deborah Sherman

November 4, 2022

Deborah Ann Sherman (Deb) (Sherloney) age 59, died on November 4th, 2022, at her home surrounded by her family. Deb was born in Chicago, IL, and moved with her family to the suburbs at the age of 12. Once Deb graduated High School, she began her successful career in the Insurance Industry. While playing softball, she met her wife, Patricia (Patty) Maloney. After 4 years together, Deb and Patty transferred to Jacksonville, FL in 2001. Full of new opportunities, career growth, personal growth, amazing new friends, and the best neighbors ever, they flourished. Deb and Patty embraced the Florida life, enjoying sunrises at the beach, jet skiing, Disney, and simply living their best lives. Deb and Patty loved to travel the US and Overseas, relishing the beauty and history of Europe. Overall, her heart will always belong to Maui, HI.

Deb was diagnosed with Stage IV Lung Cancer in October 2016 and was blessed with a journey that lasted much longer than the “Medical Community” expected. During the past 6 years, Deb documented her journey for her friends and family to follow. Her words were inspirational and filled with a deep faith in The Lord and it showed.

Along this journey Deb had her ever faithful and loving Patty by her side, as well as her parents, Fred and Dottie Sherman. Patty was Deb’s staunchest supporter, always loving, patient, and caring; providing Deb a reason to fight for as long as she did. Deb was also blessed with what she termed her “Core Team” of friends that stood by her side over this journey, Mary, Carol, Dave, and Christina. Friends who became family, the best family ever.

Deb is survived by her wife Patty, her little love Bella, Mom (Dottie) and Dad (Fred) Sherman, her brother, Steve Sherman, and all her Chicago Southside family that truly supported her along the way, as well as countless friends.

Deb has one request for those she leaves behind, “Do not mourn her passing, but celebrate her life and laugh about all the fun memories shared.”

Donations in Debbie’s name can be made to the Community Hospice & Palliative Care @communityhospice.com

Crevasse's Simple Cremation is honored to serve the Sherman family.
