Donald Lee Moore

Donald Lee Moore, 85, of Ocala, passed away Monday, February 27, 2017, at University of Florida Health - Shands Hospital in Gainesville, Florida.  Mr. Moore was born August 27, 1931 in Stigler, Oklahoma and he was preceded in death by his parents, Wilson and Ollie Moore and his sister, Esther Lewis.

 

Mr. Moore had been a member of the Cross City Church of Christ.  He was a Veteran of the U.S. Army and had served on Active Duty from 1949  - 1952 with service overseas in Germany as an  Antiaircraft Artillery – Automatic Weapons Crewman, 443rd AAA Battalion, “D” Battery.  His former memberships included the Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States, Adult Leader with the Boy Scouts of America, and Operating Engineers Local 3.

 

Survivors include his loving wife of 64 years, Charlene Moore; a son, Randy Moore and his wife, Sue Ann of Saint Johns, Florida; a daughter, Donna Moore and her husband Scott of Clearwater, Florida; five grandchildren – Sarah and her husband Rio Wibowo of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; Joshua and his wife Meaghan Moore of Fort Knox, Kentucky; Lindsey Moore of Salt Lake City, Utah; Allison and her husband Steve Bocook of Charleston, South Carolina; Daniel and his wife Kristen Moore of Tinker Air Force Base, Oklahoma; six great-grandchildren; a sister, Nadeane Brody of Rim Rock, Arizona; and several nieces, nephews, family, and friends.

Although we have never met, I have followed hearing and reading about you through my brother Randy and Sue Anne for several years now. Together you raised and great man of God and service to our Country for many years as well. I have and will continue to be praying for your strength in the coming days, weeks and months and years Mrs. Moore; as well as Randy and the rest of your family.
