Donna Lee Perry

Donna Lee Ketchum Perry, age 74 passed away peacefully on January 16, 2022 following a short battle with cancer.Donna grew up in Maine, where she was born on Indian Island, on the Penobscot Indian Reservation in 1947. After graduating high school, she moved to Hartford,CT and married her first husband, Kenneth Weaver. They lived for several years in the Florida Keys and Miami area where their three children (Kevin, Karin (Cissy) and Greg) were born. In 1974 they all moved to St. Thomas in the US Virgin Islands. Many an adventure was had on that island! Donna worked for a prominent island attorney. In her spare time, she socialized by playing pool with friends at Hull Bay beach and Magen's Bay.Donna and her kids moved back to South Florida in 1979, living in Davie and Fort Lauderdale. Donna met Roger Perry in the late 1980's and together they moved to Hawthorne, FL briefly before moving back to Fort Lauderdale where she gave birth to their son, Eric.So many memories and friends were made in South Florida; she loved the camping trips to Fish Eating Creek in Palmdale, FL & The Swamp Cabbage Festival organized by her good friends in the Judy Skinner clan. The Florida Keys remained a favorite vacation spot as well.Donna and Roger moved to Melrose, FL and she continued to live there following Roger's sudden death in 2010. Donna surrounded herself with many close friends.Donna had several siblings: Louise, Brenda, Catherine, Mary, and Charlie.Donna is survived by her children, Kevin Weaver, Karin Harvey, Gregory Weaver, and Eric Perry; granddaughter Maggie Lee Harvey; and her favorite sister-in-law Dory Perry. Celebrate her life by being the best example of kindness and generosity you can be. Donna's remains will be scattered across the places she loved so much in life, followed by a summer celebration planned at the Penobscot Indian Reservation in Maine.

  1. Ah, our time in St. Thomas in the mid-70's was characterized by fun and good friendship. Jim Coleman was my former partner and very close to Donna. He died at 34 years of age in 1980. I am glad to survive them and remember them.
