Steven, Pat and I will miss you. Till we meet again.
We are so sorry to hear from Helen that Steve has passed away. It was just before Thanksgiving that Susan and I had enjoyed having lunch with Steve and Helen. Steve and I first met in graduate school in 1968. Steve was smart, had a great sense of humor, and was multi-talented. After completing our PhDs at SIU-Carbondale, we went our separate ways but connected again while he was overseeing research projects for the U.S. Army Research Institute at Ft Leavenworth and when he was in Washington D.C. Discovering that we had both settled in our retirement years in the Jacksonville area was a great surprise. His scope of knowledge regarding military leadership, his sophistication regarding world events, his capacity for thoughtful conversation, and his friendship will be deeply missed.
So sorry to hear this Helen. I'm glad Steve and I were back in contact for the last few years. Take care.
We have so enjoyed getting together with you after all these years. What a wonderful surprise it was to find out we are neighbors. We miss you and your brilliant mind. Rest in peace, dear friend.
Steven, we will miss you dearly…our conversations together, sharing our travel stories, talk about life and everything under the sun, sharing food at the table, your support and encouragement. All those memories and time we shared together we will cherished forever. Till we meet again. – Love Elinna & Patrick
Always sad to loose a classmate. Steve's dad was concerned about his fate, when he married young. I think his first maybe only wife was Rebecca Naas. I lost track of him.
Sad to see a Class of 65 guy go.
