Everette Eugene Rees Jr.

Everette Eugene “Buddy” Rees Jr. passed away peacefully on February 23, 2026, at the age of 89 years old in Jacksonville Florida. Born on December 30, 1936, in Crescent City, Florida. Buddy spent his life deeply rooted in the community he loved. Buddy graduated from Lee High School and later pursued theological studies at Luther Rice Seminary. His faith was a cornerstone of his life, leading him to serve as both Baptist Minister of Music and Pastor. Through his ministry, he touched countless lives with his dedication and compassion. A proud veteran, Buddy served his country honorably in the United States Army. His commitment to service extended beyond the military into every aspect of his life. Buddy was blessed with a large and loving family.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Betty Rees; his brother Ronald Rees (Molly); two biological sons Donny (Renee) and Wayne (Lynn); six stepchildren – Scott, Jill, Kelly, Kim, Debbie, and Amy; as well as numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren who brought him immense joy.

He was predeceased by his parents, Everette Eugene Rees Sr and Louise B. Rees. His first wife Frances Rees and second wife Kathi Rees. Buddy will be remembered for his loving and caring nature that left an indelible mark on all who knew him. May his memory bring comfort to those who mourn his passing.
