Gene Muriel Beavers, lovingly known as "Pops," passed away peacefully at his home in Middleburg, Florida, on January 3, 2025, at the age of 85. He was born on April 20, 1939, in Ronceverte, West Virginia, to George William Beavers and Maxine Rose Ramsey Beavers.
Gene was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, and his son, Thomas Mark Beavers. He is survived by his children Timothy (Dawn) Beavers, Byron Beavers, and Melissa (Kyle) Allen; as well as his stepchildren Randal (Pamela) Wheeler, Kenneth (Jessica) Nowling, Kevin (Francine) Nowling, and Keith (Amanda) Nowling. He leaves behind numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Growing up in the hills of West Virginia, Gene spent his early years helping his parents and younger siblings on their family farm. In 1959, he answered the call to serve his country by joining the United States Navy. Gene dedicated nearly two decades to a distinguished naval career before retiring in 1978. His service exemplified his unwavering commitment to duty and honor.
Known affectionately as "Pops," Gene touched the lives of many with his unique blend of a tough exterior and a deeply caring heart. To those who knew him, "Pops" symbolized family, love, and steadfast support. Whether as a sailor, father, friend, or neighbor, Gene left an indelible mark on everyone fortunate enough to cross his path.

He was one of a kind and loved by many..WE didnt always see eye to eye but he would help you with anything and there were very few things that he did not know how to do or how to fix but he would always figure it out..He will be missed dearly.. I LOVE YOU POPS
