George L. Moore Jr. , 68, of Old Town, Florida, passed away Saturday, May 27, 2017 in Jacksonville, Florida. Cremation arrangements are under the care of Crevasse's Simple Cremation.
I am thinking and praying for the family at this time. I am glad that I had the opportunity to meet Mr. Chip and enjoyed the time he spent with us here at the College:)!
To Chip’s Family,
I am so sorry to learn of Chip’s passing and though it has been awhile, you will continue to be in my prayers.
I knew Chip when I was in High School and he was at Miami Military Academy. We met in 1968, volunteering at Red Cross, putting together packages for servicemen in Viet Nam. Little did we know, he would soon be on the USS America Aircraft Carrier heading for Viet Nam too.
Chip was my first love. We went to my Sr prom together before he went overseas.
(I have added a photo of us from Prom. Please remember it was 1969…big hair was “stylin” and the Brocade jacket seemed to make Chip stand even taller.)
We didn’t stay in touch after we broke up while he was in the Navy. I tried for several years to find him just to reconnect…hopefully as friends, but when I finally found him on-line, it was this obituary.
My heart was broken, as my hope was to share how our lives had turned out, and he was gone before we could reconnect.
I married in 1971 and just celebrated our 51st anniversary. I hope Chip had a good life and a family who loved him.
To his family, my heart and prayers will continue to be with you. Chip will always hold a special place in my heart as my “first love”. He was kind and tender and dear and I can also say a wonderful friend.
I’m sure he will be remembered by many.
I know he will be remembered always by me.
Awesome person I had the pleasure to know, may he rest in peace.
Chip will remain in our hearts and memories.

So sorry for our loss, Chip was a very nice coworker and was well liked by everyone here and the CF Levy Center. He is missed.
Chip was loved and cherished, he will be missed greatly.
