Hilary Eve Hynes April 30, 1963 – November 14, 2025
Heaven gained another angel.  Hilary Eve Hynes passed away Friday November 14, 2025 surrounded by loved ones.
She is survived by her siblings with nieces and nephews listed,  Patricia Czech (Ted Czech) Longs SC, daughter Caitlyn Czech;  Kevin Hynes (Ellen) Newton NJ, daughter Valerie Ingles, son Shaun Hynes; Heather Brush Purceville VA, daughter Ashley Brush, son Ryan Brush; Meegan Lybolt (Chris Lybolt) Midlothian, VA, daughter Rachel Lybolt; and her best friend of over 33 years Anne Cutter  Hahira, GA.
Hilary was born in Boonton Township NJ on April 30, 1963.   Her love of animals began early in life, inspired by her mother who bred St. Bernard dogs. Before graduating from Boonton High School in 1980, Hilary volunteered at the Kiwanas Ambulance Squad in Boonton NJ for several years.   This was her first step into the world of service. After surviving a near death car crash on her way home from a volunteer shift with Kiwanas, Hilary needed a change and headed to the New Symrna Beach FL area near her parents.  She taught CPR at the American Heart Association till 1990-91 as well as in the EMT program at Daytona Beach College from 91-92.   Teaching came very easy to Hilary as she shared her knowledge and did it in a way that made it fun to learn.  She volunteered as a firefighter in the New Smyrna Beach Turnbull Station 23 1990-92 and was a volunteer at the Flagler County Humane Society 1992.   She moved to Gainesville Florida in August of 93’.   She then worked as a CNA at Palms Gardens Nursing facility as well as Shands Hospital in the ER and North Florida Regional hospital as a phlebotomist.     It was in 1999 when she began her work as an Animal Control Officer with Alachua County Animal Services that her love of actively helping animals began.   She was able to help place German Shepherd breeders with local law enforcement among many other tasks.  You may have even seen her come to your house to remove an alligator or 2.    She later went on to become the Public Education Program Coordinator at Alachua County Animal Services.  This position gave her the opportunity to truly change the lives of so many people and animals.    Hilary appeared on WCJB TV20’s  “Pet of the Week” segment.    She often would give tips and educational information while showing off these special animals that were up for pet of the week adoption.    When given the task of having so many “unadoptable” dogs with no resources to train them.   She thought out of the box, and created what is known today as “Paws on Parole.”   This program partnered local inmates with shelter dogs that were “unadoptable”.    Once the inmates (who were also educated through a program by Hilary ) had successfully trained their dog, all of the dogs in the class graduated.   Once graduated, having received their AKC K9 Good Citizen (CGC) test, these dogs got to go on to their forever home.  This program became so successful it was used as a model for other counties and states to create their own version of Paws on Parole.
This legacy will continue on for greater than Hilary ever imagined.   After leaving this position due to health complications,  Hilary got back to her artistic side and began wood burning again and moved on from that to her latest art love, stippling.
Hilary’s carefree attitude and infectious giggle will be incredibly missed by not only her loving family but by so many people and animals who have been touched by her life.    Although she will miss her sweet affenpinscher Truman, her many other dog loves who have crossed the rainbow bridge we know are happy to be reunited with her.
The family asks in lieu of flowers to please make a donation to your favorite Animal Shelter or Animal program in Hilary’s name.

Crevasse’s Simple Cremation is honored to serve the Hynes family.
