James David Green Jr. (Jimmy), 51, of Jacksonville Florida, passed on Friday, October 7, 2022, at Hadlow Center after a long battle with cancer that he won when he went into his Savior’s arms.

Jimmy received his Associates in Science Degree as an Architectural Draftsman in 1997.  Many of his architectural designs included residential and commercial designs throughout Northeast Florida.  He demonstrated the highest level of professionalism and devotion to his clients, while developing long-lasting relationships with many of them.  Jimmy was employed by Hutchin’s Architecture and Design where he participated in the design of Headstart Facilities, Paul E. Joseph Stadium, low-income housing, and a St. Croix Resort.

Jimmy served as a children’s first grade Sunday school teacher at Fort Caroline Baptist Church and in the Children’s Music Ministry at East Point Church.  He was a big kid, and his love for children was evident in everything he did.  He identified with each of them, at their level, and made an impact on their lives.

Jimmy was an accomplished musician and proficient in guitar, bass, drums, piano, saxophone, and the flugelhorn; but his main love was the trumpet!

He was an avid Star Wars fan and collector, and enjoyed spending time on Star Wars Lego projects.

Jimmy was a loving husband, father, son, “favorite” brother, and uncle who is extremely missed and loved by his entire family.  He was survived by his wife, Linda Michelle Green, his daughter, Caris Anna Green, his mother, Judy Pullen, his step-father, Douglas Pullen, his sister, Lindsay Pullen, his brothers, Stephen (Jessi) Pullen, Joshua Pullen, and Mark Pullen.  He leaves three nephews: Armaan, Brantley, and Bradford; three nieces: Rebecca, Leyla, and SuttonBlaire; and his loving in-laws: Ed, Linda, and Christopher Carter.  He is also survived by his grandmother, Genie Green Register.  He is preceded in death by his father, James David Green.

Crevasse's Simple Cremation is honored to serve the Green family.

Guestbook

  1. We would like to invite all of Jimmy's friends, family, and co-workers to a "celebration of life" on Saturday, October 15, 2022, at Fort Caroline Baptist Church, 11428 McCormick Road, Jacksonville, FL 32225.
Doors open at 10am to visit with the family and the service will begin at 11am.

  2. James reviewed drawings in Aug 2022 for a building that I was considering. He was a true professional and it was inspiring to engage with him on that project.

  3. I met and worked with James at Taylor Care Center. He was a very kind-hearted person willing to help anyone. We would often talk about his upcoming marriage to Michelle and his future plans. I also had the pleasure of caring for his father a few years ago.  I’m happy that he did enjoy his family and especially his daughter. You have earned your wings! Till we meet again…

  4. Jimmy will be missed. I love watching him watch Caris at church ,she liked going through the Pews after most people had left..Jimmy was so proud of Caris, and she loved him. I pray God comfort  Michelle and Caris  during this hard time in their life’s

  5. In your memory, I just might go ahead and finish watching Star Wars. Nah, JK! Your love of that franchise was enough for the both of us for all eternity! And now that you're gone I can call them dolls and no one will correct me, at least until we're both on the same side of Heaven.

You were an amazing husband, father, and friend. I will never forget the long rehearsals, transforming an elementary school cafeteria into a worship hall, and our truly sad attempt (along with my former roommate) at starting a singles ministry, even though our lunches were truly epic.

You fought the good fight. You won the race. With love, your sister (because of Christ, but also because I'm black), Jeniah

  6. We had the pleasure of living across from Jimmy and Michelle for 9 years. Jimmy always had a smile and was always willing to lend a neighborly hand! He LOVED being a husband and dad. He was always willing to participate and help in any crazy idea the neighborhood wives came up with. We really couldn’t be more grateful to have him as a neighbor and friend when we were in Jacksonville.
