Janet M. Hendershot

Janet Ellen [McGuire] Hendershot was my dear mother-in-law, the best that a man could want or have. I met her, her husband Ivan (also recently deceased), their two youngest daughters, and some of their extended family members at our church in Melbourne, FL in the late 1970s. Their dedication to their faith and trust in God, His church, and His word in the Holy Bible, and living in accordance with it and Him in their home, in raising their children, at work, and in every other way of life, was absolute and encouraging to me and others. They were both wonderful people. For as long as I knew her, Janet in particular always put her concern for her family and others far ahead of herself, a model of humility and selflessness, a fine example of a Proverbs 31 woman, wife, and mother. We don't fully understand how all of God's ways work, but when she and Ivan are greeted face-to-face by our living risen almighty Savior in the fullness of His holy Kingdom for the rest of eternity, they will surely be told and hear His sweet and loving words "Well done, good and faithful servant."
