Jody Marie Casbarro Applewhite, 63, of Jacksonville, Florida, passed away in her home on October 8, 2025. Jody was born on January 16, 1962, in New Haven, Connecticut to Ann and Louis Casbarro Jr., she was a graduate of, West Haven High School.
Jody is survived by her husband, Douglas, her sister, Lori Casbarro Perolla (Frank Perolla), her brother, Louis Casbarro III (Kelly), many nieces and nephews, and Cooper, her Labrador Retriever.
She was preceded in death by her parents and first husband, James Fitzpatrick.
Growing up in West Haven, she learned and inherited her father’s passion of being outdoors and gardening. Despite her limited physical ability due to Multiple Sclerosis, Jody created a unique and beautiful landscape in the front of the house for all passersby to enjoy and a peaceful, plant filled oasis for family and friends to experience in the back.

Doug my heart is broken. I never met Jody but communicated via Facebook. She was an AMAZING person and she will be truly missed. I know she loved you dearly and Cooper too. I pray that you find comfort in the memories that you shared my friend. RIP Jody

I knew Jody through Facebook. She was funny, loving, bright and fearless. She loved her husband Doug and Cooper with everything she had. Gardening was her passion. Her joyful posts and garden pictures will be missed by many.
