Joella Gwen Frith passed away in the early morning of November 24, 2025, at Community Hospice Jane and Bill Warner Center for Caring. She was 59. She is preceded in death by her fiancée and life partner, George Edward Denby Lewis, and her mother, Joan Gwendolyn Frith. Survived by her daughter, Suzanne Richelle Wright, with her two children, Lilah Santini and Declan Santini; her father, Jesse Norris Frith; her brother, Jayson Norris Frith, with his wife, Rhonda, and their two sons, Josh and Justin Frith, with their wives, respectively, Kayla and Jane. Joella’s love for her family was a guiding light, and her devotion to her daughter, grandchildren, and extended family will be remembered with warmth and gratitude.
An adventurer at heart, Joella inspired others to embrace every moment. After graduating from Bassett High School in 1984, Joella attended Virginia Tech and Averett University, earning her degree. In her mid-thirties, she moved to Orlando. Shortly after, she settled in Jacksonville, where she made a home and built Chainsource Inc., with the “love of her life,” George Lewis. If she wasn’t focused on growing her business, you could find her parachuting, white-water rafting, kayaking, traveling (both internationally and stateside), snorkeling, rappelling, or on other exciting outings. Joella’s personal mantra was “carpe diem,” so whether it was concerts, bicycle rides, beach trips, camping, Jag games, or even just answering emails, she seized each day. She was an extraordinary woman whose generous and fun-loving spirit will live on in the memories of the lives she touched.
Please contact the family for details on the upcoming service they are holding. Although all charitable contributions are welcome, in lieu of cut flowers, the family invites you to honor Joella’s zeal for life and love of gardening, with gifts of seeds, bulbs, or plants (including trees and bushes) to be planted at her Florida and Virginia homes in her memory. If you wish to make a lasting impact, the family kindly suggests considering a donation to: Melanoma Research Foundation, Mucosal Melanoma Warriors Foundation, Melanoma Research Alliance, AIM at Melanoma, or Melanoma Focus. Because of the rarity of this disease there is minimal research and findings. Lack of medical solutions took Joella’s life at the young age of 59. Your contributions will help advance understanding and treatment of this rare disease, offering hope to others and honoring Joella’s legacy.
Crevasse’s Simple Cremation is honored to serve the Frith family.

Our hearts go out to all of the Frith family as they seek to find comfort and peace duting their time of mourning for the loss of Joella. May God bless you all.
I’m so very sad to hear this news. We used to tailgate at the jags games with George and Joella. She was such a sweet, fun chick. I hope she’s reunited with George and they will now be together forever. Sympathy to her family that will miss her. ❤️.
We are so sorry to hear of your beautiful Joella’s passing. We worked with her in the furniture industry and while we only saw her @ National shows 2 times a year, it was evident always by her actions and personality that if you should need anything, she would welcome you at any time/place/moment. She seemed a very genuine soul and we always smiled when seeing her @ the shows. We hope you feel love & comfort from how many lives she touched. Angela & Liz @ NOVA Furnishings.
