John A. Brook Jr.

"John Anthony Brook Jr, passed away on February 5th in Gainesville, FL at the age of 62. Born on September 28, 1961, in Miami FL.  Johnny loved music, motorcycles, art, and all things nature. He had an amazing heart and a kind soul. He loved sharing his knowledge, enthusiastically, with anyone who would listen.  The world truly became a little dimmer with his passing.

Johnny was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia and fought bravely for three years.  The last few months of his life he lived to the fullest. He did the things that brought him joy.  He made it one last time to Barber and Boo Fest, and even went camping. The three things he wanted to do when he was well enough. Johnny loved his nurses and doctors and even at his worst, he was always sweet to the staff at Shands, and the feelings from them were mutual.      

Johnny was predeceased by his parents John and Helen Brook and leaves behind three sisters, Michelle “Mikki” Daniels (Blayne), Dianna Brook, and Danielle Brook, two half-brothers, Joshua and David Brook, five nieces and nephews, Shawn Thomas, Justin Thomas, Chelsea Mcray, Savannah McKenzie, and Noah Brook, as well as many great nieces and nephews."
