  1. John always had a smile on his face and was one of the most gentle souls I have ever had the pleasure of knowing, if even for only brief time. He is now with his lovely wife and the two of them will continue to watch over their family. Go in peace John and know you will be missed by many.

  2. I will always remember John as an incredibly kind man, with a wealth of stories earned through a lifetime of curiosity, ingenuity, and hard work. I’m very happy to have known him, and saddened by this loss – but I’m sure John and Jean are happy to be with each other again. Our love goes out to you and everyone in the family!

  3. Dear Walker Family,  I am so deeply sorry for your loss.  John will be remembered for his kindness, warmth, humor, and his devotion to his beloved family.  He was a lovely, remarkable man. My thoughts are with you all. Deepest Sympathies, Laura Black

  4. Even a short time together was enough to appreciate John’s warmth and humor. I am lucky to have spent a little time with him!

  5. We have wonderful memories of John from the earliest days in the UK as well as the numerous visits he and Jean made to our family. Their warm hospitality meant so much several times when we came to Minneapolis to visit them. Our many thoughts and prayers are with all the family in this time of sorrow and loss. May you always find comfort in your memories and the certain hope of seeing John and Jean in Heaven.

  6. It was for me a privilege working with John on the UST J-Term programs in Rome since 2007. I had chatted with him just a few months ago, when he told me he was very well. When I heard the sad news, just 3 days ago, I was shocked. I would like to let his family know that I greatly admired John, a great professional and a pure gentleman. In 2012 my son Alessio attended for 2.5 months a few courses at UST. Every week John took some of his professoral time to have lunch with him. That was a great sign of friendship and generosity. Please receive my most sincere condolences and my heartfelt expression of gratitude. Claudio
