On August 17, 2021 Dr. Kathleen C. Kelley, PhD passed away, she was 82 years old.
She is preceded in death by her parents Nathan and Vivian Kelley. She is survived by a brother and his
daughters.
Kay was raised in Hudson, MI. She was active in ROTC, later joining the Army; she was honorably discharged
in April 1960.
She attended the University of Florida, obtaining her Masters Degree in Agricultural Sciences in December
1967 and later her PHD in June 1981. She specialized in Animal Reproductive Sciences. During her time at
the University of Florida she was a part of several prestigious societies.
Kay went on to work at UF in animal research studies, having an impact on animal issues today.
To family and friends she was Kay or Kate, an entity with drive and purpose, but with an exceptionally dry
sense of humor! Those who truly knew her will miss this the most…that sparkle in her eye when she knew she
got you!
An amazing person in her own right, Dr. Kelley is also a superstar beloved by a multitude of horse and dog
owners worldwide. Beloved for creating Equine Leg Magic a supplement originally intended for foals born with
leg issues, then used for arthritis in horses.Later modifying it for use in canines and humans as well. Over the
years it has been found to relive and restore much more than leg issues and arthritis.
In lieu of flowers we ask that you donate to one of her favorite charities, Operation Catnip in Gainesville
Florida. All info can be found on their website under donations. Please take a moment to dedicate your
donation to Dr. Kathleen C Kelley.
I know my life was enriched in knowing Kay and I’ve done my very best to honor her wishes.
Crevasse's Simple Cremation is honored to serve the Kelley Family.

I worked with Miss Kay for a few years, 2000-2005, and she taught me a lot about horses and their care. Unfortunately I missed her funeral. She will be missed.
