  1. I am looking for the obituary that discusses his career as a Realtor in Milwaukee, his hobby with model planes, and his volunteer work at Haile Homestead and the Micanopy Historical Society museum.

Please let me know when this is published and where and when the Celebration of Life will be.

He was one of the nicest, friendliest men I ever met. He loved talking to people and being a volunteer.

    • Upon receiving a tour of the Haile Homestead along Archer Road in Gainesville, FL., Ken recruited me against my initial intention. His congenial, knowledgeable and inspiring character absolutely changed my mind and I signed up to volunteer and enjoyed a few working opportunities with him. I had not yet returned back after recovering a September 2025 medical issue before I heard the news of his passing. He sure lived a long and fulfilled life and is now graduated from the pangs of this world as we know it. He traverse the course of life full and well. So proud of him. Much love and condolences to his bereaved. He had a ma in or impact on my 48 years since meeting him the winter of 2024. Dekova Batey.

  2. Ken was a very kind and gentle person. He was passionate about sharing the Historic Haile Homestead with our visitors and recruiting many of them as docents. It was clear he was energized by talking to people, which is probably why he knew so much about so many things. All of us at the Historic Haile Homestead will miss him so much. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family.

    • Hi Karen Perhaps we could plan a small celebration when you have your docent meetings. As I remember they are 4pm on a Sunday.

Ken would be very touched to hear so many good people speak about him.

      Just let me know.

  3. Ken was and always will be one of the best people I have ever known. Five years in my life wasn’t enough. He always had a new story, new thing to teach, new beautiful art and photos. He loved his avocado tree. He made the most beautiful paintings you would ever see. He did nothing but spread love and kindness everywhere he went and that’s what he wanted to see in the world too. I love Ken so much, we all should, and he will forever be missed. I am so lucky and grateful to have known him, have gotten any time with him, and to have been able to call him a mentor.

  4. Ken was a blessing to know. Like so many others, Ken recruited me to become a docent at the Historic Haile Homestead. Every conversation with him was a treasure trove of knowledge and wisdom. His kindness touched countless hearts. I’m grateful for our short time together and will remember him fondly. Keeping his family in my prayers.
