Lewis Wilkerson

Lewis Harvey Wilkerson,78, of Micanopy, Florida passed away unexpectedly on June 4, 2023 at his home.

   Lewis was born in Wauchula, Florida to Cuba and Florence(worth) Wilkerson. He graduated Gainesville High School, Class of  '64.

   Lewis was a Police Officer at UPD in Gainesville for 25 years then at Gainesville Work Camp as a Corrections Officer until his retirement. After his retirement he became a security officer at AGH until it closed. 

   Lewis was preceded in death by his wife Jean V. Wilkerson, his sons Jerry Wilkerson and Lewis Shaun Wilkerson and his father Cuba Wilkerson. Lewis is survived by his children Donnie Stone Jr. of Presque Isle,Maine, Jodi Goachee of Micanopy, Florida, Doug (Angela) Stone of Gainesville, Florida and his Grandchildren Tasha Stone, Chessie Stone Addy, James Harrell Jr. , Janna Goachee, Kristy Stone, Marcus Stone, Tyler Stone. Great Grand Children Olivia Hough, Maxtin Hough, and Evelyn Harrell. His mother Florence Strickland of Gainesville, Florida.

A Memorial service will be held later this Month. Please contact the Family or Friendship Baptist Church for information.
