Trenton — Linda Catherine (Berry) Barber, her grandchildren fondly refer to her as “Gagu”, 80, was a resident at Ayer’s Assisted Living. She was born to Martin & Catherine Berry on July 18, 1945 in Atlanta, GA
A native of Marion County, Ms. Barber moved to Ocala, FL when she was only 6 months old from Marietta, GA
She graduated grade school at Ocala High in 1963.
She started her career out working as a Secretary at the Game and Fresh Water Fish Commission in 1976 to 1980.
She then became a Dispatcher at the Division of Forestry Fire Control in Marion County in 1980. She continued her education at CFCC and received her AA Degree in 1985.
After she finished College she continued on with the State of Florida working for Marion County Health Dept and then ended her career at Florida Dept of Health at the Alachua County Health Dept in 2008. She retired with 33 years service with the State of Florida.
Linda’s favorite things to do were relaxing on the Weekend with a glass of red wine while watching her Gator Games, Fishing with her family, and she loved collecting red birds.
Linda is survived by her loving daughter, Chris Holliday (Jonathan Gelatt); Grandchildren: Lacey Miller, Kailie, and Makenna Gelatt.
One Sibling: Jerry Berry; 2 Nieces & 3 Nephews
She also leaves behind a very dear friend Vaneese Collins.
She is preceded by her parents, Martin & Catherine Berry; 2 Brothers: Jimmy & John Mark Berry
