Linda Diane (Curry) Carter, 70, of Gainesville, Florida passed away on Saturday, April 14th, 2018 at UF Health Shands Hospital after a long, hard-fought battle with liver disease and liver cancer.
She was born on July 15th, 1947 in Chicago, Illinois to Marjorie B. (Pearman) Sevcik and Irvin L. Curry. She attended Evangelical School of Nursing in Oak Lawn, Illinois and went on to become a Registered Nurse for the Department of Veterans Affairs for more than 36 years. Over the years, her role changed from traditional nursing to becoming a team leader for the National Surgical Quality Improvement Program (NSQIP) through the V.A. System.
She had many hobbies and interests including, antiquing, reading and shopping. She loved to travel and see new places and cultures. She was a loyal friend and left no one off of her Christmas gift list every year. In addition to being a nurse, she was an avid volunteer with the homeless population of Alachua County. She was a great animal lover and had many wonderful dogs, cats, horses, and even a squirrel throughout the years. She had recently joined the Church of Latter Day Saints and was looking forward to many more years of study and fellowship. She had expressed an interest, upon her retirement in 2012, in one day running her own antiquing business, as she had amassed many collections of antiques and interesting finds.
Linda is survived by her two daughters Jennifer L. (Perkins) Cram (Mark) and Kristen N. (Carter) Satterfield (Christopher), two grandchildren Chynna R. Cram (Garrett Holton) and Sierra N. Cram (Toby Chavez), a great-granddaughter Hayden L. Holton, and her father, Irvin L. Curry (Josephine).
She was pre-deceased by her mother, Marjorie B. (Pearman) Sevcik (John) and her sister, Nancy L. (Curry) Garrett (Michael).
Linda aka “Wonder Woman” was truly a “Wonder Woman.” She will be greatly missed by her family, friends, and members of her Global community.

So sad to learn of Linda’s passing. My sympathies to Jennifer, Kristen and Linda’s grandchildren and all who loved her. Rest in Peace dear friend.
Linda was a great lady. She will be missed by all, especially me. I always enjoyed coming to home and visiting with her and having Longaberger parties with her.
DIane F told me that Linda had passed away. I was also a classmate of hers in Nursing School and we looking forward to seeing her again at our reunion. I am so sorry to hear she lost her battle before that could happen. MY condolences to her family for which she was always so proud. She will be missed for her love and concern for all things great and small. I am sorry she did not have time to finish all she wanted to do but she always gave everything her best.
So sorry to hear about Linda’s passing, she was a real sweet lady. Thoughts and prayers with the family
