Marcella Anne Kidd
June 12, 1968 ~ February 19, 2025
Marcella Kidd, a beloved Newport News, VA resident, passed away peacefully on 2/19/2025. She was a proud Army veteran and a dedicated registered nurse, embodying strength and compassion throughout her life.
Remembered as a protector, Marcella was always there for her loved ones. Her vibrant spirit and straightforward nature made her the life of the party, leaving a lasting impression on all who knew her.
Marcella is survived by her loving family: granddaughters Sophia and Jasmine Butler, youngest daughter Bobbi Kidd, eldest daughter Danielle Butler, younger brother Kevin Roddy, mother Barbara Finley, and father Ernest Davis.

She was such a nice lady whenever she came in the pharmacy. Never upset or anything and was just the cutest little lady ever. I got the pleasure to work with her daughter Danielle for years in the pharmacy and we have remained friends ever since. My God continue to watch over her family and friends during this time 🙏🏾🙏🏾🕊️🕊️
My heart aches with the loss of my extraordinary sister, Marcella Anne Kidd. She was a force of nature, a beacon of strength, and a fierce advocate for those she loved. Her expectations were high, her love was tough, but her heart was always open.
Marcella A. Kidd faced life's challenges with unwavering determination, turning her past traumas into stepping stones towards a brighter future. She triumphed over addiction, emerging stronger and more resilient. Her beliefs were immovable, her truth staunch, and she lived life unapologetically on her own terms.
I will forever cherish the memories of her infectious laughter, her loyalty, and her unfailing spirit. Though she is gone, her legacy of strength, resilience, and tough love will forever inspire me.

Marcy, we go back quite a ways, mid 90s. We had so many great times together and I will never forget how you would always talk about how much you always appreciated your blessings, encouraged others to live life to the fullest, and you never let anything stop you from enjoying all God's gifts. You were funny, wise, protective, and prayed all the time. You never liked being controlled, not by a man, the weather, or medication. You were also a life-long learner, loved music, and live theater. I miss you so much and still can't believe you're no longer here on this earth. But guess what, I was gifted a baby Jesus the day after you passed. I keep it in my car so we can travel together. I love you and I miss you but you are in a better place. So glad I was able to spend some time with you in Florida. I'm blessed that God put you in my life. My sincerest and deepest condolences go out to your family. Marcella quickly became a good friend of mine albeit she may not have known it. Her relationship with my Queen immediately let me know she was a special person, one that could be trusted and cherished. She welcomed me whenever I visited her and I always felt at home. A true professional, she shared her medical knowledge and I was better for it. I will miss her because she is the true definition of a treasured friendship.
Marcie will always be one of mine she may not have been biological my niece but as long as I know her I was Aunt Aunt Gert. She will be missed love always Aunt Gurt and and Uncle Jim
We met in high school, navigating teenage pressures with laughter. In our twenties our friendship was deepened through our love for Jesus. Although we didn’t meet often, we were cheerleaders for Christ. When we caught up it was timeless with Marcy! Love you forever Sista💚👑
