Marshall Wayne Stark
November 11, 1957 – June 12, 2025
Marshall Wayne Stark passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 12, 2025, at 6:48 PM, after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. He was surrounded by his closest family members, held in love, as he sent up the Lord’s Prayer and left this world.
Marshall was born on November 11, 1957, in Gainesville, Florida. He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul Carey Stark and Teressa George Stark. He served in the US Navy as a nuclear weapons specialist on the USS America and Saratoga from 1974 to 1977. After an honorable discharge, he became a General Contractor, where he created beauty and meaning through his work. He was a man of faith, a thoughtful reader, and someone who never stopped learning. He had a deep love for the water, especially the time he spent fishing with family and friends, and the peaceful days on Santa Fe Lake in Melrose, Florida. These places held some of his favorite memories and were a source of joy and connection throughout his life.
Marshall is survived by his children: Daniel Wade Stark and his wife, Tierra, along with their children, Sawyer and Zoeyana; and Rebecca Helen Stark Pearson and her husband, Joshua, with their son, Max. He also leaves behind his beloved brother and closest friend, Paul Stark—whose steady presence and deep bond meant the world to him—along with Paul’s wife, TiAnn, and their children. His companion, partner, and best friend, Michele Adams-Johnson, held a treasured place in his heart. He is also survived by two sisters, Gail Stark and her partner, Jane, and Kate Stark, as well as his former wife, Patricia Stark.
Those who knew Marshall will remember his sharp wit, unfiltered honesty, and legendary, dry sense of humor—a true smart aleck in the best and most beloved way. He had a big heart, a big laugh, and a rare gift for making others feel seen and welcome. He was also a natural teacher, able to take anyone under his wing and build them up, not only in skill but in strength of character. Whether on a job site or in everyday life, Marshall shaped people as surely as he shaped wood: with patience, purpose, and care.
A celebration of Marshall’s life will be held at a later date. The family deeply appreciates your support through prayer during this time. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to the family are welcome and would be a meaningful way to honor his memory.
“My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.” - Psalm 73:26

Thru the most darkest times spent in my life Marshall stepped in as a beaken of light amidst of my home falling apart he provided help and materials when I had no money and helped rebuild my home. I am forever grateful for his teachings and guidance on the job sites and Wreastling nuisance alligators on our lunch breaks or after a long day of hard work. Taking his employees to lunch every Friday and leading the crews with the deepest sense of purpose and respect.
Marshall was a wonderful man and a talented craftsman. I enjoyed many conversations with him throughout the years. Rod and I will be thinking of you all during this difficult time of loss. 🙏
Sad to hear that Marshall has passed. I worked with him over thirty years supplying construction documents for permitting and construction on many projects he built. He was always a valuable source for information when I needed it. I will cherish the time we spent together. Thoughts and prayers for the Stark family and Michele.
Rest in peace my friend.
Marshall will always have a place in our hearts. He was a wonderful friend, a great craftsman and always ready to help when needed. We loved him and will miss him. We send our sincere condolences to his loved ones.
