Maureen Jean Whelan age 70 of The Villages, Florida.

Maureen passed peacefully in her sleep on November 18, 2025 in hospice care. She was born and raised in Everett, MA. She is the beloved wife of James Whelan of 36 years. Loving daughter of the late Theodore and Lila Sobalo. Cherished sister of Patricia (Joseph) Conte, Twin Sister Marie (Paul) Bogosian, and the late brother Theodore Sobalo Jr. She also left behind many nieces and nephews.

She loved to travel and spend time with her family and Cat Sammi.

    I am So Sad & Heartbroken that I will never receive any more pictures of your Beautiful Little Baby Sammi. I will also miss it when you, Marie and I shared our Birthday celebrations on the same day and when you always shared you and Jim’s vacation pictures and the Touching and Beautiful Pictures of Marie when she came to visit you & Jim in Florida.

    My Red Sox sister, I’m so very saddened to learn of your passing, All future Red Sox seasons will not be the same without you. I am beyond grateful that our love for the team brought us together and we became more than fans, but friends as well. All of us in our Red Sox family will miss you terribly, however, our boys of summer have gained another Angel in the Outfield.
