Michael Claude Jarvis (Mike) 78 passed away on January 4, 2023 at North Florida Regional Hospital (HCA) in Gainesville Florida.
Mike was born in Augusta, Georgia October 20, 1944 to Betty Howell Jarvis and William Jarvis. He joined the US Army in 1965 and served in Vietnam until 1967. He lived in Miami near his folks in the late 60’s and early s70’s.
He is survived by his wife of 41 years Katherine (Kathy) A. Jarvis. Together they lived in Columbia County and opened The Western Tepee in Alachua. Mike managed the western store for 20 years. He is also survived by his stepdaughter Amy Williams and grandchildren Kaila and Kaiden.
He loved fishing, horses, he was a cattleman, a huntsman and golfer. He had many trophies from golf tournaments. 2007 Mike suffered a stroke but he kept on driving and visiting his friends. Moving to Alachua, he started to slow down and enjoyed lunches out and golf cart rides. Mike, you are very much missed.
