Mike, a wonderfully gifted leader with a profound depth of intellect, the enduring legacy of your countless contributions to the National – make the Global – air space system will always define your legacy. As will your unique iterpersonal skills that brought a welcoming friendship to all that engaged you. God's Grace to you and your loving family.
Mike was admired by all in the Air Traffic Control business. He had a wary going comfortable way of talking to people and explaining how to achieve a win-win ending. God bless him and his family.
Mile was a great leader and model for many of us in the FAA. Down to earth, intelligent and charismatic – always inspired confidence and positivity.
Mike understood what needed to be done and how to accomplish it through working with others. He had a unique ability to work in differing communities and their interests, whether domestically or globally. He was always open to sharing his thoughts and his advice was thoughtful and on target. I will personally miss our time together on international travel and seeing how he was able to bring about consensus.
Most importantly, Mike’s love of family was obvious. He proudly talked about the success of his sons and the commitment to extended family.
Our sympathies to Marry Beth, his sons and all that knew Mike.
Mike was one of the best air traffic controllers. I worked closely with him during the 1980s & 90s. He was also a great person & outstanding FAA employee. He will certainly be missed by all who knew him.
Although not related, we shared the same last name and that may have been why Mike helped me when I entered the industry more than a decade ago. We had so many great conversations where he mentored me and helped me make better business decisions, opened doors for me, and aided my ability to network with contemporaries. I'll miss him, the great embrace he gave me each time we met, and the jokes we told so many about our last name. He made things better!
Mike was a dear friend and coworker. Our hearts go out to the family during this trying time. May he rest in peace.
Mike was an amazing person, plain and simple. He was pivotal to so many peoples' careers and more over their lives. He leaves a monumental legacy and will be missed beyond words.
Mike was a great friend and colleague starting from the day we were hired by the FAA. He will be missed. My condolences to Mary, the boys and Betty.
I considered Mike my brother and we had a great relationship as controllers and very close friends. Mike accomplished a great deal in his career and he earned the reputation of excellence in every position he held. Marilyn and I will always have the wonderful memories of our dinners together with Mary, Mike and our wonderful friends. We will miss him and may God bless his soul and let him rest in peace.
Mike’s legacy is that of a collaborator, leader, and visionary. I am so terribly sad over this news and will be praying for all of you.
